<WCAG-AA/Lowstrong> The Parliamentary Election...

The agreement between the Liberal Democrats and the Conservatives is full of policies that we have campaigned on for years - and now have the opportunity to put into practice. Nick's staff have put together a quick guide to them and you can
<WCAG-AAA/Lowa class="dec" href="/info/in_govt.pdf" > download them as a PDF file from here.

Local triumphs were that Greg Mulholland held his seat in Leeds West (next door to Ilkley) and David Ward took Bradford East away from the sitting Labour MP.

<WCAG-AA/Lowstrong> The local elections...

The Keighley results for Bradford Council were totally different to the national results for Westminster:

The tory share of the vote went
<WCAG-AA/Lowstrong> down
by 9.2%

The labour share went
<WCAG-AA/Lowstrong> up
by 2.7%

<WCAG-AA/Lowstrong> Our share went up by 4.6%
(up by 7.5% in Ilkley and 10.5% in Worth Valley!)

We still, unfortunately, came third in all six wards, but in Ilkley we're less than 2% from second and close in two more). And we got lots of offers of help from new people, so we'll be able to work on that. If you'd like to help, please do get in touch.
<WCAG-AAA/Lowa class="dec" href="contact.php" > Judith Brooksbank

Just now Keighley Liberal Democrats' main, local concern is
with our traffic problems - see here.
A lot has been done, but all too little has been achieved. Traffic lights and
road works at the Netto roundabout have helped a little, but the real problem at all
of our junctions isn't the junctions themselves, but how to get traffic flowing freely
away from each junction and set of lights.

We aim at the highest possible accessibility standards - WCAG 1.0, AAA and WCAG 2.0, level 3 (with valid HTML). Unfortunately, that's hard to prove. The checker linked above, for instance, fails almost every page on the site, but when I follow up the faults, so far, they have all turned out to be warnings about issues that have been taken into account. Please feel free to check for yourself, then if you find an exception, please
